SPONSOR AN ANIMAL IN CARE 

Sponsor an animal in care and help pay for their species specific milk formula, supplementary feed, bedding and medical needs. It costs an average of $2000 to raise one healthy joey for kangaroos and wombats this is around 2 years. If the joey has medical issues or injuries this can increase significantly. Possums, turtles and lizards are the second long care animals. And we also look after birds that usually require short term care

For our long term care animals you will receive a sponsorship certificate,  a monthly email update with photos and a few surprise gifts through the year. You will also receive membership to Dimmocks Retreat and receive exclusive members only offers. 

Our wildlife in care are being rehabilitated under license where they will be released back to the bush where they belong. You can read more on each of our rescues below. Car Accident Orphan​

Gigi's Gift the little Eastern Grey kangaroo joey rescued by our dear Page who coordinates Bowral markets. Page found Gigi after stopping to check on her mum that had been killed and left in the middle of the road at Berrima. The little joey hopped up to Page who picked her up and brought her to safety
She is named after Page's beloved dog who left this earth only a few days prior.

Marlu is an eastern grey kangaroo who lost her mum in a motor vehicle accident and kind locals checked the pouch and rescued her in Bundanoon. There are many different Aboriginal words for Kangaroo, Marlu comes from the Warlpiri language group in Central Australia and suits her spirit. She is settling in well after her traumatic rescue ​

Cinderella is a swamp wallaby came to us from a local in Bowral that was coming home on a lonely dirt backroad when he came across a wallaby that had been hit. Unfortunately mum was deceased but he found Cindy in the pouch uninjured. She is the cheekiest of our mob and enjoys cuddles in each of our joey's pouches ​

Each animal is different psychologically and needs different levels of support. Due to the long drought and now bushfires there is no food left for our wildlife and we now have to support feed until the forest regrows.  ​

Samson is a baby orphaned wombat found by a dear local mother who checks deceased wombat regularly. This was the first time she had found a baby inside alive. Samson was furless and pink weighting just over 500 grams and suffered a fractured ulna from the car accident. He was treated by the vet and has recovered well and loves running as fast as possible after his buddy Monty

Welcome Milo the little orphaned wombat named by his rescuer Mark who checked the pouch of his deceased mum. Milo was found in a drought affected area west of us covered in ticks. He also had some bite marks and a gash behind his ear. He is learning that his wombat milk is very yummy and enjoys his post milk cuddles

Car Accident Orphan

On new years eve we were evacuated for the first time from the path of a monster bushfire that was heading towards our property. That morning a dear little female wombat was rescued and handed in to Bundanoon vet. We were then taken in by dear friends with all of our animals and we asked them to name her and they chose Berrima. She is named after the suburb we evacuated to. Welcome Berrima she is settling in well as she gets used to her new world.

Bushfire victim

A victim of the Australian Bushfires, Boulder came in with burns to the back of his head and body and is receiving ongoing supportive treatment with our local Bundanoon vet. He received his name as the kind man called Bob found him in the middle of the road not moving. He thought it was a rock on a big winding dirt road in Wombeyan Caves. As he got closer he realised it was a wombat. Surrounded by the black zone of the bushfires. Bob himself has lost his house. Our thoughts are with him and the hope for this little one.

Larry is an orphaned baby brushtail possum who was found by a kind local mother on her way to pickup the kids from school. She dropped him into the local vet who warmed him up as he was very cold and gave fluids. He came in very small and today is a big boy learning to hang from branches and foraging for food

Blossom is an orphaned baby brushtail possum found by a local vet on the way to work lying on the side of the road with no mum in sight. Being still on mum's milk at a young age she was checked and brought into care. She is doing very well and putting on great weight. She has beautiful big eyes​

Mother attacked/killed

Jaffa in an orphaned baby brushtail possum found at a local school after the school kids and teacher saw her mum being attacked by a crow. Unfortunately mum did not survive but Jaffa is doing well in care and is wilding up nicely to return to the Aussie bush

Found Alone Orphan

Herman is a male eastern long necked turtle that was found by a wildlife rescuer on the side of the road clipped by a car in Werai,  a known turtle crossing spot. Thankfully his injuries were not life threatening and received xrays and patching up, passing his float test he is currently in long term care until he sheds his shell to reveal if the patching has worked
