Here at Dimmocks Retreat Wildlife we run two primary programs in our community:
Disaster Relief ProgramOur disaster relief program was forged out of the 2019 fires that devistated much of south east Australia. Working with other veterinary professionals we worked to provide a professional backstop for many of our volunteer workers.
Focused on organising veterinary appointments, contributing resources and at times covering the costs of veterinary treatment, working with practices to bring wildlife specific experience to domestic animal veterinary practices when requried. |
Wildlife Emergency Responce TeamOur Wildlife Emergency Responce team (WERT) program is part of the NSW AIIMS solution to assembling qualified, experienced teams to work with the NSW Emergency Management framework to meet the needs of emergency responders for wildlife (and any injured animal) impacted by disasters, such as the 2019 bush fires.
We aim to provide AIIMS certified, bushfire qualified, wildlife experienced volunteers who can provide tranqualiser darting and drone services for SAR work. |
